Hyderabad: Rachkonda police busts 8 coal adulteration racket

Hyderabad (Natural Energy News): Rachkonda police on Friday arrested eight Ibrahimpatnam accused and busted a 13-member coal adulteration racket and seized 1,050 tonnes of high-quality coal and 700 tonnes of low-quality coal.





In a press release, Rachakonda police said that G. Raju, who owns a coal dumping yard in Ibrahimpatnam, Soma, a worker in the yard, c. Amarendra Reddy, the owner of a lorry, K Mallesh, lorry driver, Nizamuddin, an earth-loving operator, E Anjaiya, a security guard at Raju's coal adulteration plant, S Satyam, a lorry driver, Rizwan, an earth-loving operator, arrested.




Gaya, while five others - U Laxman, Amir Mohammed, U Purushottam Reddy, Karunakara Reddy and Ram Reddy are still absconding.

Explaining the alleged fraud committed by the accused, the officials said that Raju started a coal dumping yard in Ibrahimpatnam in 2018 in collaboration with Ram Reddy, Soma, Nizamuddin, E Anjaiah.

Similarly, Amir also owns a coal dumping yard in Ibrahimpatnam and is working with the support of other accused.

Both Raju and Amir were cheating their customers, mostly small-scale industrialists, who pleaded for the purchase of high-quality coal. However, they were supplied with adulterated coal.




The accused, who either imports coal from Singareni Collieries in Telangana or imported coal that comes from different counties in Andhra Pradesh to Krishnapatnam port.

After the coal stock reached their dump yard, the accused unloaded half of the high-quality coal from each lorry and replaced it with low-quality coal.
