Tata Power has developed a 100 MW solar project in Maharashtra

"Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has received a letter of award from Maharashtra State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for developing a 100 MW solar project in Maharashtra," the company said in a filing to BSE.



Tata Power on Friday said that its wholly-owned branch has contracted to develop a 100 MW solar project in Maharashtra.


Energy will be supplied to MSEDCL under the Energy Purchase Agreement, which will be valid for a period of 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date.

It is necessary to commission the project within 18 months from the date of execution of the PPA.

"With this award, the cumulative capacity of the refurbishment will be 3,557 MW," said Tata Power CEO and MD Praveer Sinha.



The plant is expected to generate around 240 million units of energy per year and will replenish around 240 million kg of CO2 per year.

The company said that Tata Power's renewable capacity will increase to 3,557 MW, of which 2,637 MW is operational and 920 MW is for power generation, including the award of 100 MW.

Tata Power shares were trading at Rs 43.65 on BSE, up 1.75 per cent from their previous close.
