British Petroleum operates a global trade service centre in Pune, employing 2,000 employees

According to a report, the Energy Head facility in Pune will be operational by January 2021.



British Petroleum (BP) India is looking to set up a global business services centre in Pune and can hire 2,000 people, the company said.


This move has the effect of an outbreak of COVID-19 against the backdrop of BP laying 10,000 employees.

The report states that the facility will be operated by third parties, and will work on improving BP's analytics and data science capabilities


In India, BP has about 7,500 employees in its oil, gas, lubricants and petrochemicals businesses. It also has a joint venture with Reliance Industries in the fuel retail sector.
