Kuwait plans to double LNG capacity by March

Al-Zaur LNG Terminal Will Be Middle East's Largest

Kuwait plans to open the Al-Zor LNG terminal by March, citing anonymous sources. Al-Zaur will be the largest plant of its kind in the Middle East.

The plant will have a capacity of 22 million tonnes of LNG per year to double the field capacity. This comes as the world moves towards clean sources of energy, with gas acting as the cleanest hydrocarbon.

NEF calculated that Kuwait would use less than one-third of Al-Zor's capacity by 2030.

The Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company hopes to select a company that operates and maintains Al-Zaur for five years in the next few weeks.
