Projects: Kuwait to issue tender for new renewable energy projects

Kuwait intends to issue a tender to provide electricity to two gas bottling plants for two renewable power projects, a local newspaper reported on Monday.

The projects are a part of 77 contracts, which can be issued during FY 2020-2021 by the Kuwait Oil Company (KOTC), the transportation arm of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, which manages the oil industry on a large scale, OPEC member.

The new plants will provide electricity to KOTC's two gas bottling factories in northern Kuwait's southern port of Shuaiba and Umm al-Ash, Arabic-language Allanba quoted responsible sources as saying.

The project states that the projects will use renewable energy and allow KOTC to stop relying on expensive power generators, the report said, without giving details of the project.

The other tender was for the maintenance and operation service at Kuwait Oil Companies.
